Commemorative Bench Program

HONOR LEGACIES. MARK YOUR MEMORIES.

In partnership with the City of Coral Gables, the Coral Gables Community Foundation offers The Commemorative Bench Program. The program provides a meaningful way for people, nonprofit organizations, government organizations and companies to honor the legacy of a loved one, a special milestone, or commemorative event with a bench in one of the City’s green spaces or parks.Commemorative Bench Application Parks with removed

Within your preferred park, a brand new bench will be installed with a plaque in one of the City’s beautiful green spaces or parks. Please submit your proposed plaque inscription for approval on the Commemorative Bench Application.The commemorative benches are 6 feet long, UV and moisture resistant and have an estimated 15-year lifetime. Please select the location of your bench from the list of available parks and green spaces here.

COST

Individuals, families and non-profit organizations: $1,700
Corporate Rate: $3,500

The cost of the commemorative bench is tax deductible. Pricing includes the bench, installation and the plaque. Please make checks payable to the Coral Gables Community Foundation. Credit cards are also accepted.

PURCHASE DEADLINES + INSTALLATION PERIODS

Commemorative bench orders placed by December 31st will be installed during the months of March and April. Commemorative bench orders placed by June 30th will be installed during the months of August and September.

Commemorative Bench Application

  • The list of available parks and green spaces can be found here.

  • Plaques

    Plaques are 10.5 inches x 3 inches with a maximum of 4 lines of text with 24 characters on each line. Spaces are counted as characters. Wording for the plaque should be respectful and tasteful (avoiding profanity, advertisements, vulgar statements, etc.) and must meet the approval of the City of Coral Gables and the Coral Gables Community Foundation.
