2013 Annual Gala HONOREES
21st Annual Black Tie “Club Monaco” GALA • October 13, 2012
The black tie gala is the Foundation’s major annual fund-raising event. Each year the Gala features a different theme and the presentation of awards to community leaders in five categories: Legacy, Community, Culture, Education, and Sports/Entertainment. This year’s honorees were:
• Robert J. Fewell, the WILLY BERMELLO LEGACY AWARD;
• Wayne E. “Chip” Withers, Foundation Ex-Officio City Liaison Board Member and former City Commissioner, the COMMUNITY AWARD;
• Steven H. Krams of Cinemateque’s Coral Gables Art Cinema, the CULTURE AWARD;
• Dr. Joyce Elam, Dean, University College at Florida International University, the EDUCATION AWARD; and
• Paul T. Dee, J.D., University of Miami Hall of Fame Honoree, posthomously awarded the SPORTS AWARD (accepted by his widow Cathy Zuckerman Dee).
