Foundation History – 2015 Annual Report
Led by community leaders, the Coral Gables Community Foundation provides the philanthropic conduit to connect individuals and corporations looking to positively impact the success of the community. For 25 years, the Foundation has been at the forefront of the evolving needs of Coral Gables, while effectively bringing together beneficiaries and benefactors to fund programs with the greatest impact and benefit to “The City Beautiful.”
Established in September 1991 by community leaders, the Coral Gables Community Foundation, through its endowment, discretionary, donor-advised and scholarship funds has helped youth, the elderly and persons with disabilities. The Foundation has provided dental care for needy children, sponsored cultural activities in the community, awarded academic, dance and music scholarships, as well as offered seminars to educate the public on important health, finance and estate-planning
issues, awarding $5 million to worthy causes since our founding.
The Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce played a key role in establishing the Foundation and the two organizations continue to enjoy a strong partnership.
