CORAL GABLES, FL (April 18, 2022) – South Florida Business and Philanthropic leaders Ed and Carol Williamson, known for their generosity to charitable causes in South Florida for more than 50 years, are supporting Coral Gables Community Foundation this Spring with a major gift that will help ensure funding for scholarships, provide community grants and ensure nonprofit excellence in Coral Gables and the Miami area.
Their generous gift of $100,000 was received by President and CEO Mary Snow and Foundation Board Chair Venny Torre on behalf of Coral Gables Community Foundation at Williamson Automotive Group.
In remarks at the presentation of his gift, Ed Williamson said, “We’ve trusted the Coral Gables Community Foundation since our first donation in 2007 because we value their trusted leadership and impactful support of the community’s needs.”
In appreciation for the gift, Foundation Board Chair Venny Torre reflected on Ed and Carol: “Their love for South Florida is evident in all that they do. Given their family’s stature and values, the Williamson family’s philanthropy inspires others to give.”
“We’ve enjoyed a long relationship with the Williamson family and are proud that they’ve entrusted Coral Gables Community Foundation to manage their charitable giving through their Donor Advised Fund,” said President and CEO Mary Snow. She continued, “It has been a privilege to manage the Williamson Family Donor Advised Fund since 2014, and it’s been incredible to see the impact they have had in our area in terms of educational opportunities, LGBTQ causes and community building initiatives.”
