Coral Gables Community Foundation Names Mauricio Vivero as  New CEO

Renowned Philanthropy Leader Brings Global Perspective and Proven Track Record to the Foundation

Coral Gables, FL – June 2 – The Coral Gables Community Foundation today announced the appointment of Mauricio Vivero, a nationally respected philanthropy leader, as its next Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Mary Snow, who over the last decade increased annual community impact from less than $100,000 to over $5 million. Vivero will lead the Foundation into its next chapter, advancing its legacy of impactful giving and expanding its impact locally and beyond.

With a distinguished career spanning nonprofit leadership, government relations, and social impact strategy, Vivero has helped channel over $200 million in philanthropic grants to causes around the globe. He most recently served as Head of Partnerships for a private foundation in New York City and Corporate Secretary of the Global Impact Social Welfare Fund.

Additional experience includes serving as founding CEO of the Seattle International Foundation, where he led the organization for nine years, advancing international development efforts. He has advised high-impact organizations including Segal Philanthropies, National Council of Nonprofits, Guidestar, and the Center for Lobbying in the Public Interest. His extensive experience in government relations includes serving as Vice President of the Legal Services Corporation, Director of Government Relations for Independent Sector, and Director of Grassroots Lobbying for the American Bar Association. He holds a B.A. from Florida International University and a J.D. from Creighton University.

The announcement comes on the heels of several successful initiatives by the Foundation, including the launch of its first-ever Community Needs Assessment and the record-breaking distribution of $3.25 million in college scholarships through its 2025 Scholarship Program. Made possible by the Foundation’s generous donors, 207 scholarship awards were presented to students from 76 high schools, marking the organization’s largest single-year distribution to date.
