Ways Of Giving

Friends Of The Foundation

Engaging and improving your hometown community, ‘Friends of the Foundation’ enables the Foundation to address social problems, administer grants, fund charitable organizations, and stimulate neighborhood and/or regional economic development with a one-time donation of $100 (Foundation Friend), $500 (Silver Level), or $1,000 (Gold Level) to the Foundation’s unrestricted funds. Make a donation here!

Join The Merrick Society

For those looking for a more substantial commitment, consider joining our Merrick Society (a three-year commitment of $1,000, $2,500, $5,000, or $10,000).

Join the Ponce Society

The Ponce Society of Young Professionals (“PSYP”) was founded in October 2011 as the young professionals outreach of the Coral Gables Community Foundation joining its mission to that of the Foundation: “To foster programs and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for people living and working in ‘The City Beautiful’.” A self-governing Committee was assembled with the purpose of supporting the Foundation in carrying out its mission, and in getting more young professionals involved in Foundation initiatives and activities. The Ponce Society also creates its own social events to further its outreach.

Creating an endowment is an opportunity to provide a gift that will keep on giving well into the future as well as an opportunity to fund the needs of the moment. If you wish to protect the funds you receive and share the benefits of diversified investment management, you could set up an endowment fund with the Coral Gables Community Foundation, adding contributions whenever you wish. The Foundation manages the funds in conjunction with their other funds and disburses the income as determined at the time of the gift.

You may donate securities or property to a fund under your name and get a tax deduction for the market value on the day of gift, without having to pay capital gains tax. Estate plans are also supported by the Foundation through the Charitable Lead Trust. You donate part of your estate to the trust now, and the income goes to your fund for a stated number of years. Your estate taxes are reduced and the property is not taxed to your beneficiaries.

With Unrestricted Funds, your gift can address our community’s ever-changing needs. We continually evaluate all aspects of community well-being: arts and culture, economic development, education, environment, health and human services, and more. The flexibility your unrestricted gift affords enables the Foundation’s program experts to respond to the community’s most-pressing needs, today, and for the unanticipated needs of tomorrow.

Planned giving is an important component of the Coral Gables Community Foundation’s efforts. By planning your gift over a certain period of time, you have greater control of how your gift positively affects the Coral Gables community.

By making a planned gift, you transform and share your legacy with the benefactors of your philanthropy.

After careful consideration of your personal and family wishes, a planned gift can be tailored to fit your financial situation while providing significant tax advantages.

Your planned gift can support the Coral Gables community while enjoying tax savings that benefit you and your family. Consider the following options:

  • Bequests
  • Life Insurance
  • Charitable Gift Annuities
  • Retirement Benefits
  • Charitable Remainder Trusts
  • Gifts of Residual Interest

Your support makes Coral Gables a better place to live, work and play, positioning your community foundation to meet current demands and anticipate future needs. To find out more, please contact our Executive Director, Mary Snow at 305.446.9670 or mary@gablesfoundation.org.
