The Bob Ross Communicator to Watch Award is given annually to a communications professional in South Florida who has made an extraordinary contribution to their organization and to the communications community and profession as a whole through their work and service. The Communicator to Watch award is given to a communications practitioner who meets the following criteria:
- Works and lives in South Florida
- Has 5 to 10 years of post-undergrad experience in a communications-related profession
- Nominee must be an active PRSA member
- This includes experience in any of the following areas: social or digital media, marketing, public relations, creative design, content creation, corporate communications, public affairs
- Has demonstrated support and dedication toward advancing the profession in communications and service

Nomination requirements
- Nominee or nominator must be an active PRSA Miami member.
- Resume, bio and/or link to LinkedIn profile (must be set for public viewing)his
- Two reference letters that address the criteria for the award
- A summary, no longer than one typed page, that addresses the criteria and answers the following questions:
- Why do you believe the nominee should receive the award?
- How have they contributed to the advancement of the profession?
- Provide two detailed examples of the nominee’s recent successes.
