The Luke Sturgill Memorial Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors who will attend a vocational or technical school. Students must pursue a degree or certificate from a vocational or technical institution.
The Luke Sturgill Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Luke’s aunt and Coral Gables resident, Laura Russo, in his memory to support educational opportunities for deserving high school graduates.

REQUIREMENTS
- Overall unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Applicant must be a senior in good standing at an eligible high school for at least the 11th and 12th grade.
- Must intend to attend a vocational or technical school and/or pursue an Associate’s Degree.
Subject Area
- May only be used to attend a vocational or technical school. (Not UF, FSU, FIU, UM, etc.)
Award Value
The value of the scholarship is $1,000-$2,500 for one, two or four years. If awarded a multi-year scholarship, the student must show proof of full-time enrollment and satisfactory grades.
